Professor David C. Wisler visited Turbomachinery Laboratory of Tsinghua University
On the afternoon of November 19th, 2017, Professor David C. Wisler, who is a member of the American Academy of Engineering, visited Turbomachinery Laboratory of Tsinghua University and conduct in-depth academic exchanges and discussions with the teachers and students in the laboratory.
Professor David C. Wisler has won the AIAA Lifetime Achievement Award and is a leading expert in the field of aero engines. He was selected to GE (the world\'s largest aero-engine company) Hall of Fame. He is a part-time or honorary professor at MIT and many other famous universities. He was a member of the Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) , Vice Chairman, Chief Editor of top international journals, such as ASME Journal of Turmachinery and ASME Journal of Engineering for Gas Turbines and Power.
At the meeting, Zhang Meijie, Sun Zhenzhong and Wang Junying introduced their Ph.D. research directions and research progress. Zhang Meijie introduced the research progress of the theory of flow stability of complex time-varying compression system. Sun Zhenzhong introduced the research on the influence of flow field distortion on the flow stability of compressors. Wang Junying introduced the impeller mechanical optimization design system based on artificial intelligence and big data. Professor Wisler fully affirmed that the three doctoral students have involved in international frontier research. He highly praised the creativity and international vision of the students and offered valuable suggestions. Professor Wisler\'s profound knowledge, thorough insight and unique academic insights have convinced everyone; his humorous style fully mobilized everyone\'s enthusiasm. The atmosphere of the audience continued to be warm and everyone benefited enormously.
