 In the afternoon of July 6th, 2018, Department of Automotive Engineering of Tsinghua University host the 2018 Graduation Ceremony at the Reception Room of the Main Building. Graduate student Xiao He from the Tsinghua Turbomachinery Laboratory was invited to give a speech as a representative of outstanding master students. The speech was entitled “A Lesson Learned from Research”, in which Xiao shared his thoughts through research experiences and highlighted the significance of persistence in life and research.

After receiving the Bachelor degree at Tsinghua in 2015, Xiao He continued his master study in Tsinghua Turbo Lab. Xiao’s research topic is “Aerodynamics Design and Flow Control Investigation of High Pressure Ratio Centrifugal Compressor”. He has published 4 SCI-indexed journal papers and 1 ASME Turbo Expo conference paper as the lead author, and he served as a reviewer for Aerospace Science and Technology, Journal of Power and Energy, Journal of Automobile Engineering, Journal of Aerospace Engineering. During his Master studies, he received the Tsinghua Overall Excellent Scholarship, JASSO Scholarship, Tsinghua-IHI Scholarship, and National Scholarship. He was nominated to the Tsinghua Principal Scholarship for Graduate Students. After graduation, he will pursue PhD study in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, sponsored by the Imperial PhD President Scholarship..
